Visual artist, performer and art educator
YASMIM FLORES is graduated in Visual Arts at Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado (FAAP, São Paulo, 2008), and also completed a specialization at École Nationale de Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris in 2009.
As an Art educator, she worked at EAV Parque Lage, an experimental school of visual arts in Rio de Janeiro at the pre-school Casa Redonda Centro de Estudos, (Round House Study Center)– a pioneering early childhood school in Brazil, with over 40 years of history with its principles and practices, rooted in the early development of sensitivity, nature awareness, artistic expression, free play and the cultural diversity of Brazil.
She also offers art workshops for children at art institutions at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM), and Cultural Center Spaces, Music Festival for Kids, and Online Festivals where she developed her research project “Sound Drawing Movement LAB for children” and “Pintura Viva”: a collective painting practice with natural paints for mothers and babies.
Actually, she is teaching Music and Art for children at EPM Choro School of Rotterdam at WMDC CODARTs, teaches art classes in schools through SKVR and is external adviser of the graduate exams for Willem de Kooning Academy -WDKA students.
As a visual artist and performer, Yasmim participated in a number of collective exhibitions between Netherlands, France and Brazil.
